About Me
Meet Our Founder/CEO
A fully licensed psychotherapist practicing and serving Southeast, NC. Ms. Carr is the owner and founder of Serenity Healing Solutions, PLLC. Ms. Carr graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Appalachian State University (ASU) in Boone, NC, continued her educational career, pursuing a Master’s Degree at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW). Ms. Carr’s focus during her time at UNCW, was a concentration on clinical treatment and psychotherapy through the Master’s of Social Work Program. Upon graduation, Ms. Carr began her professional career as a psychotherapist where she received hands-on training and clinical experience in various community-based and outpatient settings, including in-home care, group homes, and community outreach. These early experiences laid the foundation for her transition into private practice, where she now specializes in helping individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, and depression. Ms. Carr is a certified trauma specialist in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is currently advancing her credentials as an EMDR Consultant-in-Training. Her professional interests focus on trauma-informed care, particularly the treatment of transgenerational trauma through EMDR. She integrates trauma-informed practices into all areas of her work, including therapy, clinical supervision, consultation, and higher education. Ms. Carr is also a frequent participant in professional development focused on trauma and transgenerational healing, further enhancing her expertise in these critical areas of mental health. Ms. Carr also serves as full-time faculty in the Department of Social Work at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW).
Serenity Healing Solutions, PLLC, focuses on helping clients face trauma, anxiety, and depression while also focusing on the restoration of inner-peace by resolving deep emotional pain, internal conflict and maladaptive coping behaviors, in efforts to help clients reach their full capacity, strength and potential. Ms. Carr’s client base is expansive, as she provides services to adolescents, young adults, adults, and families. Ms. Carr specializes in work with clients and families of all ages, and ethnic and racial backgrounds, with: (1) behavioral issues, (2) issues overcoming life adversities, change, and life transitions, (3) self-esteem, self-confidence and insecurity issues, (4) racial equity issues (5) recognizing, processing and understanding trauma/generational trauma specialty, as well as (6) setting and executing short and long-term life goals.
